ChetumalTours.com was founded in 2014 as a retail tour operator in the southeastern region of Quintana Roo. We began by offering a kayak tour in the southern part of Bacalar Lagoon, specifically in Xulha. With the growing popularity of Bacalar’s Seven Color Lagoon, our operations expanded to include boat tours in Chetumal Bay, Rio Hondo, and Bacalar Lagoon, as well as guided excursions to nearby archaeological sites such as Oxtankah, Chacchoben, Kohunlich, Dzibanche, and Kinichnah.
Over the years, we have incorporated destinations from the neighboring state of Campeche, including Calakmul, Chicanna, and Becan. We also promote tours for travelers visiting Costa Maya – Mahahual port, among others.
ChetumalTours.com is organized into two main divisions:
- Tour Operator: This division is responsible for directly operating our tourist attractions, which are 100% owned by the company.
- Online Travel Agency (OTA): This division handles the marketing of both our own attractions and those of third parties, integrating a selection of trusted local operators in each of the destinations across southeastern Mexico.
Our commitment is to offer authentic and memorable experiences, working closely with local operators to ensure quality and safety in each of our tours.

Carolina R5 August 2026Lugar mágico y anfitriones maravillosos. Excursión que vale 100% el esfuerzo, desde que lo contratamos todo fue muy fluido, Ulises, Daniel y el Capitán Carlos fueron excelentes anfitriones. La Vans que nos transportó era muy cómodo y nos dio chance de dormir un rato más pese a que habíamos madrugado para disfrutar más del día. Luego en la laguna nos quedamos sin palabras, es un lugar mágico, el agua es tibia y perfecta para disfrutar con los niños. El capitán nos ofreció frutas con Tajín que estaban deliciosas y nos ofreció también servicio de fotografías y video. Luego en el restaurante la comida estuvo muy rica, sencilla pero típica de la zona con amable atención. De seguro volveremos algún día.Posted on Google

Daniel, nuestro guia y conductor, se aseguro de que tuvieramos bien hidratados pues el calor es extremo. Daniel nos explico parte de la historia detras de las extructuras en Calakmul. Calakmul es un sitio Maya impresionante y grande, subir las piramides mas altas fue toda una aventura mas que todo por el calor que aveces se siente insoportable. We’ve been on many tours where it feels like you’re being presented with an encyclopedia of information and it quickly becomes overwhelming. This was the opposite. He answered all of my questions thoughtfully and explained how the historical theories continue to evolve, which made the site feel alive rather than static. Caroline C14 February 2026An excellent tour of three less well known archaeological sites We did the tour of the Kohunlich, Dzibanché and Kinichnā sites and had a great day. We’ve visited the Yucatan many times and this was definitely our best tour. We thought we were going to be a group tour but it was just the two of us, our guide and his assistant. Raul was an excellent guide - super knowledgeable and very passionate. We learned lots about the Mayan culture, and flora and fauna. Visiting less well known sites is highly recommended - we practically had all three locations to ourselves. Dinner at Huay Pix was great way to end the day.Posted on Google

Josep Lluis Suage16 September 2025Fantástico paseo en pontón. Cogimos tour compartido a las 13 horas, pero estuvimos sólo nosotros, por lo que fue ideal. Visitamos los distintos puntos de interés de la laguna mientras el guía nos los iba explicando, y rematamos con un baño de casi 1 hora en el canal de los piratas, donde nos hicieron un reportaje de video y foto con dron que quedó espectacular. El señor José quien nos llevó al tour, NO quiso devolverme un protector a prueba de agua para celular que olvidé durante el recorrido, me dio excusas desde el primer día, dos días más tarde tampoco se presentó como habíamos quedado. Ulises, encargado de Chetumal tours, NO resolvió nada. INCREÍBLE QUE TENGAN EMPLEADOS LADRONES. No era algo de gran valor, sin embargo, sus acciones me dejaron mal sabor de boca, así que NO LES RECOMIENDO CHETUMAL TOURS. También, durante el recorrido llevan música que no permite escuchar lo poco que dicen durante el recorrido, una señora pidió varias veces que bajaran el volumen pero lo volvían a subir. Mel Asecas30 April 2018🇪🇸 Nosotros fuimos al tour de 3 zonas arqueológicas y ¡nos encantó! Javier (nuestro guía) es un experto no sólo en la historia maya y arqueológica de los sitios, sino que también nos habló de la vegetación, animales, etc. Aprendimos mucho más de lo que esperábamos, además lo hace super ameno y sientes que vas de aventura con un amigo que acabas de conocer. Si bien es cierto que pueden ir por su cuenta a estos lugares, el tour vale la pena porque no sólo van a ver maravillas Mayas, sino que les explican a detalle historias y sus contextos lo que hace que la visita sea mágica. También les quiero comentar que Javier fue super puntual cuando nos fue a buscar, algo que se agradece mucho. Así mismo, es paciente para cuando estás tomando fotos y hasta te ayuda a buscar hermosas aves y monos para que les puedas tomar fotos y te explica todo de ellos, como sus nombres, hábitos, etc. Siempre está abierto a preguntas y puedes notar que no sólo tiene toda la información, también te trasmite su pasión por estos temas. La atención previa al tour también fue muy buena, siempre respondieron a todas nuestras preguntas y nos guiaron por el proceso de compra. Por todo esto, les recomendamos mucho el tour. 🇬🇧 We went to the tour of 3 archaeological zones and we loved it! Javier (our guide) is an expert not only in the Mayan and archaeological history of the sites, but he also told us about the vegetation, animals, etc. We learned a lot more than we expected, he also makes it super fun and you feel like you're going on an adventure with a friend you just met. While it is true that you can go on your own to these places, the tour is worth it because you will not only see Mayan wonders, but they will explain to them in detail, will share stories and their contexts which makes the visit even more magical. I also want to tell you that Javier was super punctual when he went to pick us up, something that is appreciated. Likewise, he is patient when you are taking pictures and even helps you looking for beautiful birds and monkeys so you can take pictures and he explain everything about them, such as their names, habits, etc. He is always open to questions and you can notice that he not only has all the information, he also transmits his passion for these topics. The pre-tour attention was also very good, they always answered all our questions and guided us through the purchase process. For all this, we highly recommend the tour.
