Banco Chinchorro is a natural atoll that is located approximately 40 km east of the tourist town of Mahahual, approximately one hour and 15 minutes by boat, it is also a protected natural park whose extension extends for just over 40 km of coral reefs, that have witnessed the stranding of several vessels from the time of the conquest of the American continent to the present day, in its bed cannons, knives, and vestiges of these past and recent shipwrecks have been found, in addition to its immense biodiversity that makes a very special tourist attraction, among lovers of diving and snorkeling.
The snorkeling or diving tour to Banco Chinchorro has as its departure base Mahahual, there they are provided with the necessary equipment (they can also bring their own) and are given the instruction to get on the boat (comfortable and safe), which will take them to the natural park, for that we have all the permits and insurance required for the journey as well as permits to carry out these activities within the protected natural reserve, due to the distance of the trip the tour requires a whole day (approximately 9 hours ), and a minimum of 6 people is required to make the excursion -if you travel alone or you and your group are less than 6 people, read the frequently asked questions section of this tour at the bottom of this page-.
