Visit to the 3 archaeological sites located in the south of Quintana Roo about 70 kilometers from the City of Chetumal, near the border between Guatemala and Belize, leaving Chetumal at 10:00 am. We can pick you up directly from your hotel or locations that you indicate in comfortable transportation.

The tour is a full day tour (between 6 and 8 hours) that passes through these three archeological sites of great relevance to the south of Quintana Roo, kohunlich, Dzibanché and Kinichná, at the end we give you the option of stopping to eat at a restaurant on the shores of the Huay Pix lagoon (food not included).

Konhunlich stands out for having its own style in architecture, iconography and ceramics, dating from 200 B.C. when some masonry plateaus were built at Ya’axná but it became a major city in 1200 AD. when the temple of the masks is built.

Until now, Dzibanche is the largest and most important archaeological settlement (40 square kilometers) in the southern zone of Quintana Roo, with monuments that reveal its complex politics. In Temple VI, wooden lintels with calendrical inscriptions were found, from which its name comes, which means “Writing on wood”, dating from 200 AD. but it lived its heyday in the classic Mesoamerican period.

Kinichná its name is attributed from a stucco element with a representation of the kin glyph (Sun or day), which is preserved in the upper part of the Acropolis 2 km north of the main complex, it is similar to a cemetery with tombs of special rulers. Its architecture comes from the early classic.
