About the Tour
Chacchoben and Bacalar are two of the favorite tours for visitors coming to the Costa Maya via cruise ships, as well as for vacationers staying in Chetumal or Bacalar. We bring them together into a single, complete full-day experience.
The tour starts heading out from Chetumal or Bacalar to plunge into the jungle for an approximately 1-hour guided walk through the fascinating archaeological site of Chacchoben, a set of Mayan pyramids surrounded by lush nature where spider monkeys can usually be spotted.
Later, we head to Bacalar to board a pontoon boat for a 2.5-hour tour across its 3 cenotes, Bird Island, and the Pirate Channel, where you will have about 30 minutes to swim in its crystal-clear waters. We will also visit the Bacalar Fort viewpoint for a memorable photo opportunity and have time to eat at a local restaurant before heading back to your accommodation.
