The fascinating island of Tamalcab is located in front of the fishing and tourist town of Calderitas, it is 14 km long and wide that varies from a few meters to about 300 meters, on the southern part you can explore a small arm of water (stream) where different aquatic birds inhabit such as frigate birds, cormorants and seagulls, as well as some species of terrestrial mammals, the tour is done from inside the shelter of the island so it is a very comfortable tour for adults; in the middle is what we locals know as the neck of the island is a 20 meter access that connects both sides of the island and that at certain times of the year has nothing to envy the Caribbean Sea is here where we bathe and enjoy of the turquoise blue of the Bay of Chetumal for approximately 1 hour, on the way our captains have a clinical eye to detect the presence of dolphins or manatees -when there are approximately 75% of the time-, that is why you have to have the camera ready , the tour includes a walk through a Mayan interpretive trail.
